Ich war noch nie der Prinzessinnen-Typ und als ich von dem Buch hörte, wusste ich, dass ich es lesen muss. Es ist ein absoluter Volltreffer. Kindgerecht erzählte Geschichten über starke Frauen aus allen Epochen, kombiniert mit tollen Illustrationen. Ich finde, es sollte viel mehr Bücher geben, die (kleinen) Mädchen so viel Selbstbewusstsein vermitteln. Ich hoffe, dass das Buch in nicht zu ferner Zukunft auch auf Deutsch erscheint, damit meine kleine Wilde es auch für sich entdecken kann (im Moment ist sie sowieso noch zu klein dafür mit 2,5 Jahren).Unbedingte Kaufempfehlung!
Ich hab das Buch in einer Kickstarter Promotion gesehen und es mir gleich bestellt - wirklich toll! Bei den meisten Frauen würde ich mir wünschen gleich mehr zu erfahren, eine Seite ist doch sehr wenig, aber das ist ja eigentlich das Beste, was passieren kann, wenn man gleich an anderer Stelle weiter liest. Schön wäre eine deutsche Übersetzung!
Habe das Buch für meine Tochter zum Englischlernen gekauft, und es wurde tatsächlich mit Begeisterung in kurzer Zeit durchgelesen. Inhaltlich sind allerdings manche Episoden sehr oberflächlich und auch teilweise falsch oder unvollständig in den Fakten, zum Beispiel das Kapitel über Elisabeth I. Deshalb nur 3 Sterne.
… doch ich hatte es zuerst gelesen!Tolle, kurze, knackige Stories über bemerkenswerte Frauen gepaart mit schönen Illustrationen. Was will man(n) mehr? Sollte tatsächlich nicht nur junge Mädchen lesen, sondern einfach jeder, unabhängig vom Geschlecht. Absolut großartig!
Hab es meiner Großen (10) geschenkt und sie ist - wie ich - hin und weg. Tolle Kurzgeschichten, bzw. Zusammenfassungen von starken Frauen dieser Welt. Sehr toll, inspirierend und auch gut geschrieben mit schönen Portraitzeichnungen. Sehr sehr zu empfehlen!
I liked the concept of this book very much and people raved about it, so I bought it for my niece. It’s a really good idea and the illustrations are great but the writing is not executed very well. I think too much focus is given to “popular†women (e.g. Hillary Clinton), rather than women who achieved incredibly brave things throughout the centuries. Additionally, some of the words are way too difficult for the age level this is aimed at. There are ways of explaining difficult concepts even to children and the book does not achieve that in many cases.
I got this as a baby shower gift for my sister who had a baby girl. The stories are of diverse and fiercely empowered women. It is a nice quality and each story is only about a page long so it is great for keeping the attention of young kids
Nice that each story is just a page, so you can read more than one. I like the diversity of women / girls represented, but some do seem to be pushing a political agenda. We skip those stories.
